18% increase in employee engagement at 'Klinika Zdrowia Eko' through CSR activities
For the 'Klinika Zdrowia Eko' medical clinic chain, we developed and implemented Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs focused on local pro-health initiatives and ecological education. Within 6 months, measuring satisfaction surveys and retention rates, we observed an 18% increase in employee engagement. This showed that authentic CSR activities build a stronger team.
Klinika Zdrowia Eko, a chain of medical facilities in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, approached us with a need to strengthen their team. They wanted to genuinely engage employees and show that the company cares about more than just profit. We focused on CSR activities to build community and demonstrate that green business makes sense.
The challenge
At the beginning of 2023, Klinika Zdrowia Eko faced several challenges. Internal surveys showed that only 54.7% of employees felt a strong connection to the company's mission. Medical staff turnover in the last 12 months was 21.3%, which generated significant recruitment and training costs. There was a lack of a coherent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy that could genuinely translate into a positive company image in the region and boost team morale. Previous attempts were limited to sporadic collections, without a long-term plan.
Our approach
We started with a thorough diagnosis of the situation. Our team, consisting of three consultants from Podlaska Symbioza Biznesu, conducted a series of meetings and workshops with the management staff and employee representatives of Klinika Zdrowia Eko. We talked to understand their values and what is important to the local community. Specifics matter, so we collected data on demographics, regional health needs, and existing social initiatives. We also analyzed how the Clinic handles medical waste segregation and energy saving to weave ecological actions into the CSR plan. We focus on action, so we quickly moved from theory to planning concrete activities. The goal was to create programs that would be authentic and close to the hearts of employees.
The solution
We prepared two main CSR programs: 'Healthy Senior in Green Care' and 'Eco-education for Toddlers'. As part of the first program, employees of Klinika Zdrowia Eko, including nurses and physiotherapists, regularly visited local Social Welfare Homes, offering free consultations and simple exercises. We also organized collections of healthy food for seniors. The second program involved a series of ecological workshops for children in primary schools in Białystok and the surrounding areas. Clinic employees conducted classes on waste segregation, healthy eating, and the importance of urban green spaces. Each activity was precisely planned, and employees had real influence on its shape. Eco-logically to profit – because health and the environment go hand in hand.
Results
The implementation of CSR programs at Klinika Zdrowia Eko brought measurable benefits, significantly exceeding expectations. The team felt part of something larger, and the local community began to perceive the Clinic as a responsible partner. This showed that investing in authentic social actions is indeed a good investment that builds trust and strengthens bonds. No beating around the bush – employees are satisfied, and this translates into better patient service quality.
